I went in around mid morning and it wasn’t crowded at all. I was able to choose either indoor or covered patio seating. The atmosphere was cozy given the open space in the restaurant. The service was excellent from the time I arrived until the time I left. The hostess and servers were very attentive. The food was great!! The potato balls are AMAZING!! I could have just eaten those and been a happy camper! The prices were fairly reasonable but the quality of the food was wonderful! I’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful experience. I raised my son in San Diego and also getting pizza or a sundae here throughout that time. I have since moved away but am back for a visit and wow has Sammy’s changed. The restaurant is just beautiful with so much openness, green and flowers everywhere you turn. The service was friendly, and consistently good. The food was so good! It was happy hour and my friend got the lettuce wraps and she loved them. Lots of flavor! I had the mini cheeseburger appetizer and they were so flavorful. I opted to have both the cheeses on these mini burgers and that was a good decision.... Really good mix of flavor. We also got the cotton candy. I remembered this from when my son Would get it here and he loved it.... Check out the pics as it’s so pretty and light and airy— yum! Truly wonderful experience....

Tried this place for breakfast at 10:30am on a Friday. We were seated right away. Your entire party needs to be there to be seated. This place is located right next door to Banbu Sushi. Small parking lot right in front of the restaurant and more parking in the next lot over. Servers were very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious, cute, and cozy. There is seating inside and near the open windows (kinda outdoor? Lol) Definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area. Food review: Iced chai latte: (5/5) This was so tasty! It was creamy and had the perfect amount of spice. Wish there wasn't so much ice in it and so little drink. Lavender mimosa: (5/5) presentation so cute! It was refreshing and had amazing flavor. Could drink these all day. Peach Bellini: (4/5) Definitely on the sweeter side, but tasty! Plain Jane: (5/5) This is the perfect classic breakfast. It comes with toast, eggs, sausage, and side of fruit or potatoes. We got bacon on the side too, super delicious! Breakfast Sammy: (5/5) Good sized portion. This sandwich was so tasty! The bun was so soft. They are not stingy with the meat either. Sooo good. It would’ve probably tasted even better with an over easy egg! Smoked brisket melt: (5/5) wow. Wasn’t expecting this to be as tasty as it was. The sourdough bread was perfectly toasted and each bite was filled with lots of meat and cheese. Yes! Definitely would order again. Coffee cake pancakes: (5/5) This was the perfect sweet treat for sharing! These are unreal. The flavors mesh well together. This is a huge portion!

My first time here. There is a stylish vibe the moment you look into the restaurant. It was a warm and sunny day and the windows were opened the day we went. We choose to sit on the patio. Our server (I wish I could remember his name) was absolutely delightful. He greeted us with a smile that made you feel welcome checking in on us the right amount of time. He took our drink order quickly. I choose to have iced tea... I would definitely recommend their Tropical Tea. Lots of flavor and it’s unsweetened. The menu has an array of dishes to choose from. So many of the dishes I wanted to order. My friend and I finally chose 2 different items and split them. The presentation of the dishes was outstanding but the flavors on my goodness. Our taste buds were happy. I will definitely go back. I can't wait to try more of the dishes.

This review is for the new Toasted restaurant that replaced Sammy's. I went and was not disappointed. Relaxing inside and outside seating. Their brunch menu has good variety. I especially enjoyed the Elvis French toast. I believe this will be the best brunch spot in all La Mesa. Definitely worth a try.
